Major Production:  The House Guest

Introduction

Carrying on from the Industry pitch module, in which the group formed a pitch proposal for a game idea to a panel of industry professionals for the concept of a horror science fiction game.  The major production module will continue the work on the game through its development stages of creation.  In particular focusing on the exterior creation of the games map in which creative process will focus on all assets involved for example, the mansion house, sheds, woodland, roads, mine shaft and a lake.  

Block out

As all research and other pre-production documentation was completed with the industry pitch module, the major production module will now focus on the production and creative processes used for the development of the exterior element of the map for the game.  To begin with, a basic block out of the exterior of the map was created to scale in order to get locations of essential elements in place.

The map was created to scale by using a scaled figure in order to scale assets appropriately to size.

The location of the assets located so far in the map have been based off a map layout created and submitted during the proposal stage for the industry pitch module in the previous semester.  However, it is to be noted the map design is subject to change if required for group needs.

A group meeting took place in order to establish the work flow and establish what everyone is currently doing.  It was then agreed block outs would be completed for Monday 21st January.  Myself and Connor Burdett agreed to have a basic shape of the house blocked out  for Monday.  This is so the group can agree on the size and shape of the house as Connors main focus of the games creation  is to create the interior, therefor making it imperative that the size and shape of the interior and exterior sections of the house match to one and another.
